Episode 16 features Paul Nogaki from Temecula Valley Judo, and we talk about starting a new dojo.  Paul is a CPA and has started several dojos over the years, and talks not only about starting your own dojo, but also about achieving 501c3 status, which he calls the "Holy Grail" of non profits.  We discuss things such as rental space, mats, insurance, and more things to think about when starting your own dojo.  Mike Darter started www.okcdt.com in 2000 as a 501c3, and Gene Shin started www.ssjjudo.com last year, and will now be seeking 501c3 status.  Thanks Paul!

Featuring Dr. Ann Maria DeMars and Ronda Rousey, this podcast is the followup for episode 14 "Coaching Resources" and is online now for public consumption.  Gene spoke at length with Ann Maria about coaching your own kids, and Ronda about not only fighting on the mat, but fighting to get her chance on the mat.  This is a great podcast for all!  Serge Bouyssou and Jim Pedro, Sr. were both supposed to be on, but due to conflicts, they were unable to attend.  Mike was also gone for this podcast, but it is one you will not want to miss!

Ken and Malcolm are involved with British Schools Judo, previously the British Schools Judo Association, which is thepart of the BJA involved with schools Judo.

Creative Judo Teaching, covers a great range of topics and involves sections on the aspects and responsibilities of a Judo coach. On class planning, on incorporating Judo appropriately into the National Curriculum.
